VSI is looking for a hands-on Industrial Valve Technician to support maintenance, repair, and testing operations for customers across multiple industrial and power generation facilities.
This role is a great fit for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy troubleshooting equipment, working in the field, and traveling to customer sites during outages and maintenance projects. Technicians will work alongside experienced teams performing valve repair, inspection, testing, and rebuilding services in both shop and onsite environments.

Primary ResponsibilitiesValve Service & Repair
- Inspect, repair, rebuild, and maintain industrial valves and related components
- Work with a variety of valve types including:
- Safety relief valves
- Control valves
- Gate valves
- Globe valves
- Ball valves
- Diagnose issues such as leakage, worn trim, pressure loss, or mechanical failures
- Perform disassembly, cleaning, lapping, machining support, reassembly, and testing
Testing & Calibration
- Conduct valve testing and calibration procedures to verify performance and compliance
- Utilize measuring tools and testing equipment to ensure proper tolerances and functionality
- Document repair findings, pressure settings, and inspection results
Field Service Support
- Travel to industrial customer sites to support outages, shutdowns, and emergency repair work
- Perform onsite troubleshooting and repair work safely and efficiently
- Represent the company professionally while working at customer facilities
Documentation & Teamwork
- Complete service reports and repair documentation accurately
- Work closely with supervisors, engineers, project managers, and fellow technicians
- Communicate repair recommendations and technical findings clearly
Safety & Quality
- Follow all company safety policies and customer site procedures
- Ensure repairs meet applicable quality and industry standards including ASME and NBIC guidelines where applicable
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications
- Mechanical or industrial maintenance experience preferred
- Previous valve repair or rotating equipment experience is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
- Comfortable working independently and in team environments
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical certifications or trade school training are beneficial
Travel & Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel approximately 40–50% of the time
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and outage schedules
- Ability to lift tools, equipment, and valve components
- Comfortable working in industrial settings, confined spaces, and elevated work areas
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
