A busy Internal Medicine practice which has an immediate opening for a Nurse Practitioner. The Nurse Practitioner will become a pivotal member of our practice offering team based care in the Taunton area. Under the supervision of the Medical Doctor, the Nurse Practitioner will
play an integral role in providing timely complete physical exams, chronic disease management, preventive healthcare, and urgent care for our patients.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with MD, Nurse Practitioner, medical assistants and support staff to deliver expert
team based primary care. - Practice medicine using sound medical judgment and adhere to all ethical considerations of the
practice of medicine; know limitations and seek consult when advisable; keep abreast of current
technologies and industry standards. - Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for complex acute, critical,
and chronically ill patients. - Utilizes advanced nursing knowledge to identify, prevent or solve complex and/or recurring patient
care problems. - Evaluates current research findings and delivers evidence based care
- Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s age-specific needs
- Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
- Follows and manages patients (in collaboration with MD) enhancing continuity of care
- Performs and records the patient history and physical exam and discusses findings with the
physician when appropriate - Charting in the patient’s medical record is routinely to be completed on the same day as the
patient’s visit - Monitors patient outcomes in accordance with defined standards of patient care
- Performs medically delegated aspects of patient care as agreed upon by medical administrators
according to practice guidelines - Maintains and practices in accordance with practitioner guidelines per state and hospital
regulations - Maintains the standards and educational requirements specific to the position and licensure
Qualifications:
- Current applicable state license required
- National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP)
- Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication
