Compensation and Employment Details:
- Full-time employees earn an average annual salary of $90,000, including overtime hours.
- At MD Office Solutions, full-time status is defined as working 30 or more hours per week.
Requirements:
- Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- Ability to navigate the demands of mobile cardiac imaging.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record to operate company fleet vehicles.
**Full-time employees average an annual salary of $90,000 which includes overtime hours**
Education, Training & Certification:
- Must have a certification or degree in Nuclear Medicine.
- A minimum of one-year experience performing nuclear medicine imaging procedures, specifically cardiac exams and performing quality assurance on the equipment is preferred.
- Must have an active NMTCB or ARRT(N) license, and, if applicable, a state license in good standing.
- American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and CPR courses.
Skills & Competencies: Your formal training will prepare you to perform your job duties, but you'll also need soft skills to succeed as a nuclear medicine technologist:
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and patients and gain their trust and respect.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in all areas.
- Ability to react in an emergency and determine the best course of action or care for the patient.
- Able to work independently and under pressure.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record to operate company fleet vehicles.
- You'll have to be able to assist patients (no lifting), and you'll spend hours on your feet.
- Required to push/pull 800lbs+ of medical equipment.
Work Environment:
- Employers of nuclear medicine technologists include hospitals, physicians’ offices, and diagnostic laboratories.
- There are risks associated with this occupation. As with all healthcare professionals, you could be exposed to infectious diseases. Your work could also expose you to radiation and you must take measures to protect yourself, your coworkers, and your patients’ using gloves and other shielding devices. MDOS nuclear medicine technologists are required to always wear radiation-sensitive badges when on duty to monitor their exposure.
- Will require emergency response participation in the event of a radioactive or nuclear spill.
