Job Responsibilities:

- Performs appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status (including cognitive, communicative, and developmental skills as appropriate).
- Seeks and evaluates information acquired from other members of interdisciplinary team: patient, family, physician, non-nursing disciplines, support staff, others.
- Uses assessment information and critical thinking skills to collaboratively develop individualized plans of care.
- Actively seeks patient, family, team, and physician involvement to develop plan of care including needed education.
- Collaboratively plans and prepares patients for further support needs once the current episode of care outcomes is met (i.e., teaching, referrals, and follow-up).
- Directs the interdisciplinary care team via delegation, coordination, and collaboration as appropriate.
- Provides or delegates care consistently with plan of care, guidelines of care and professional licensure provisions.

Required Skills & Experience:
- Two (2) years of experience in PICC/Midline Insertions.
- Specialized vascular access professional who places, manages, and troubleshoots PICC lines and other central lines.
- Vascular Access assessment.
- Monitors PICC/Midline insertion.
- Central Line Management.
- Line Maintenance.
- Comfortable working independently and responding to consults throughout the facility.
- Ability to perform procedures at the bedside in various patient care environments.

- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers (AHA)
- Vascular Access Board Certification (VA-BC).

- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
