Buyer / Planner - Western Suburbs

Our Opportunity
The Buyer / Planner is accountable and responsible to support the scheduling of suppliers to meet customer demands in a timely and cost effective manner. Performs material planning and purchasing function for raw and chemical needs along with other materials including packaging supplies.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilizes ERP system to determine material requirements for raw, chemicals, & other materials.
- Places PO’s with appropriate suppliers to ensure needed materials are on hand to support schedules.
- Communicates with suppliers to plan & coordinate timing of planned deliveries.
- Works with supplies to resolve any quantity, quality and/or pricing disputes.
- Keeps VP of Operations aware of any disputes requiring intervention.
- Monitors supplier performance data and makes recommendations on potential supply base changes.
- Monitors/communicates with receiving personnel to ensure accuracy of receipts.
- Conducts/oversees month end physical inventories to ensure accurate inventory records.
Key Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree desired
- 5+ years experience in a construction or manufacturing environment in either a scheduling or purchasing position.
- Excellent computer skills to include thorough knowledge of a ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to plan, organize work with limited direct supervision.
