Location: Asheville, NC
Evening Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (flexible based on department needs)
Salary: $52,000 – $90,000 (based on experience)
Sign-On Bonus: Case-by-case
Relocation Assistance: Starting at $5,000

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Manager to support a high-performing surgical services department. This facility is recognized among America’s 50 Best Hospitals, holds Magnet® designation, and is a Level II Trauma Center.

The Sterile Processing Manager will oversee approximately 80 FTEs and 7 Team Leads supporting Endoscopy, OR, CVOR, L&D, and inpatient/outpatient procedural areas. The department utilizes the SPM Workflow system to ensure efficiency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director to oversee daily department operations

  • Support staff recruitment, retention, training, and competency validation

  • Ensure compliance with sterilization standards, aseptic technique, and infection prevention protocols

  • Maintain instrumentation quality and workflow efficiency across all service lines

  • Integrate sterile processing operations with OR and specialty departments

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and recommend resource optimization strategies

  • Promote collaboration and positive engagement across clinical teams

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and readiness for accreditation surveys

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of Sterile Processing experience

  • Minimum 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience

  • Completion of a Two-Year Surgical Technology program OR

    • CRCST certification (IAHCSMM/HSPA) OR

    • CSPDT certification

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Strong knowledge of OR instrumentation, aseptic technique, and infection control standards

  • Experience with SPM Workflow system preferred

  • Surgery Center leadership experience will be considered
