Position Overview
Stansberry Asset Management is seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Events & PR Specialist to manage and execute a wide range of client-facing events and industry conferences and expand the firm’s public presence through various media outlets and other PR opportunities. This role combines strategic event planning with proactive public relations initiatives to enhance brand visibility, client engagement, and market positioning. The ideal candidate will work closely with the business development and marketing teams to ensure every event and PR opportunity aligns with our brand and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute firm-hosted events such as client appreciation gatherings, educational seminars, and prospecting events.
- Manage all logistics including venue selection, catering, décor, signage, audiovisual requirements, and day-of execution.
- Partner with marketing and business development to manage invitations, RSVPs, guest communications, and event-day materials.
- Lead planning and execution of the firm’s participation in industry conferences, including registrations, booth logistics, collateral, branded giveaways, and travel coordination.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key media outlets and industry contacts to support PR goals.
- Draft and coordinate press releases, media advisories, and post-event coverage in collaboration with the marketing team.
- Proactively secure guest spots on podcasts, webinars, and industry-related TV/radio channels to increase brand awareness.
- Capture event content, photos, and key moments for social media and future marketing/PR use.
- Ensure all events and PR engagements reflect the firm’s brand standards and deliver a consistent, professional message.
- Negotiate pricing and manage vendor contracts to stay within budget.
- Track event-related expenses and provide detailed post-event reports and ROI analysis.
- Maintain records of event planning documents, vendor communications, and media outreach for future use and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
- 1+ years of experience in event planning, public relations, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an eye for brand messaging and tone.
- Experience in the financial services industry is a plus. SIE certification preferred or must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with HubSpot and Salesforce a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 30-50% annually with rare travel on weekends ahead of events.
