  • Spend significant time on the production floor coaching supervisors, machinists, and shop personnel
  • Improve on-time delivery, backlog reduction, throughput, and overall equipment utilization
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing and problem-solving methodologies
  • Partner with quality teams to address recurring issues through root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Manage shop capacity, labor planning, and workflow to prevent bottlenecks and improve responsiveness
  • Develop employees through coaching, feedback, training, and performance management
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, sales, purchasing, finance, and HR to align plant priorities
  • Build and track KPIs tied to operational and financial performance

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in a CNC machining or job shop manufacturing environment
  • Strong background leading custom manufacturing operations with multiple product lines or short-run production
  • Proven ability to lead change, improve culture, and develop manufacturing teams
  • Hands-on leadership style with strong floor presence
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Epicor, Infor, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar
  • Ability to understand and act on production metrics, financial performance, and operational data
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent manufacturing leadership experience will be considered

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Transformational leader who leads by example
  • Strong coach who develops employees and builds accountability
  • Comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced machining environment
  • Driven to improve performance while maintaining strong employee engagement

What’s Offered

  • Competitive compensation package
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Company-paid life and disability insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid holidays, vacation, and sick time
  • Long-term growth opportunity within a global manufacturing organization

This is an outstanding opportunity for a plant leader who enjoys building strong teams, solving operational challenges, and creating lasting impact in a precision manufacturing environment.
