Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available at a school in Aurora, CO serving 9th-12th-grade students. This role focuses on supporting students with mild to moderate special education needs, including delivering learning evaluations, report writing, and direct services. The position also involves working with a moderate to severe ASD program without behavioral concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with mild to moderate special education needs
- Conduct learning evaluations and prepare detailed reports
- Provide specialized instruction and support in a high school resource setting
- Collaborate with the special education team to meet student needs
- Participate in CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training provided during onboarding
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education teaching credential or active progress toward obtaining it
- Experience or interest in working with mild to moderate special education as well as moderate to severe ASD programs (no behavior challenges present)
- Comfortable with a two-step interview process including an initial screening via Teams and a panel interview (flexible virtual option available)
- Open to new graduates and tenured educators
- Willingness to engage fully in CPI training
Additional Information:
- The district includes 16 sites in the northern Denver suburbs and serves approximately 7,000 students
- Relocation candidates are welcome; candidates should provide an update on their relocation status upon submission
- This position is contract-based; district does not accept VOCO or hybrid roles
