We are looking for an Assistant Buyer to join our team on a contract basis in Cromwell, CT. This role is ideal for professionals with purchasing experience, particularly in manufacturing environments. You will play a critical role in procurement activities, vendor coordination, and ensuring the smooth flow of purchasing processes.
Responsibilities:
• Manage purchasing processes, including sourcing and acquiring goods and materials for production.
• Collaborate with vendors to negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery schedules.
• Conduct research on potential suppliers to identify cost-effective and high-quality options.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, invoices, and other clerical documentation.
• Utilize SAP R/3 software to streamline procurement operations and track inventory.
• Support manufacturing teams by ensuring timely delivery of essential materials.
• Perform accounting-related duties such as reconciling invoices and tracking expenditure.
• Address purchasing discrepancies and resolve issues with vendors efficiently.
• Proven experience in purchasing or procurement roles, preferably within manufacturing.
• Familiarity with SAP R/3 or similar enterprise resource planning tools.
• Strong ability to research vendors and assess their value propositions.
• Proficiency in clerical tasks such as document management and record-keeping.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles related to purchasing.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and vendors.
