Shift: 3x12 Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 34.5/week
Bill Rate: $2700/weekly
Charting System: Allscripts
Scrub Color: Royal Blue

Unit Overview

• Trauma Level: II
• Beds: 26 MICU beds
• Staffing: ~14 RNs per shift
• Patient Ratio: 1:1–2 typical, max 1:3 during short staff
• Support Staff: 2 PCTs at night
• Charge Nurse: Does not take assignments; responds to codes and RRTs
• Physician Coverage: Fellows/Residents 24/7; Attendings not always onsite
• Respiratory Therapy: RTs in-house 24/7 (manage vents, CPAP/BiPAP/trachs; RN gives treatments)

Required Skills & Experience

✅ 1+ Year MICU Experience
✅ Must titrate all critical drips: pressors, sedation, paralytics, insulin, antiarrhythmics
✅ Must read/interprets own cardiac strips
✅ Strong critical care judgment; CCRN preferred but not required
✅ No trauma experience necessary

Common Diagnoses Treated

• Sepsis, cardiac arrest, neuro surgery, GI bleed, DKA
• Angioedema, induced hypothermia, post-cardiac interventions

Schedule & Orientation

• Floating: May float to stepdown (ratios 1:3–4)
• Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per 4-week schedule (Sat & Sun)
• Holiday Rotation: May be required
