SDMCompany is seeking a skilled Shop Service Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery, trucks, and components. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as PM Services, filter replacements, tire checks, and fluid checks.
- Replacing faulty components, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic lines/cylinders.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on equipment such as excavators, loaders, and bulldozers.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot complex machinery malfunctions.
- Repair or replace parts such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, turbos, and undercarriage components.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly.
- Reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics in SIS and other machine software to support repair work.
- Follow safety protocols and learn the importance of maintaining safe working conditions.
- Ensure that equipment is operating according to manufacturer standards.
- Keep detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, and services performed on equipment to correctly write service reports.
- Attend all hands-on training and attend relevant technical classes to further develop your skills & knowledge.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by Team Leader or Supervisor to support the team.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment/Truck Technician.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in heavy machinery.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Experience repairing Caterpillar, Komatsu, and Tigercat machines.
- Knowledge of various machine software and programs is a plus.
