Title: Accounts Payable Lead
Location: Plymouth, MN (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full‑Time
Compensation: $70,000–$80,000 base salary
Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
Position Overview
A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an Accounts Payable Lead to support and help guide its AP function. This role is ideal for an experienced AP professional who has been serving as a point person, mentor, or informal leader and is ready to take the next step into a lead or supervisory‑level position.
The AP Lead will be responsible for supporting daily accounts payable operations while providing leadership, direction, and problem‑solving support to the team. This position offers a strong opportunity for professional growth, increased ownership, and long‑term career development.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for day‑to‑day AP questions and issue resolution
- Provide guidance and support to AP team members, including training and workflow assistance
- Oversee accounts payable processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Manage and support sales and use tax responsibilities (required)
- Partner with internal teams and vendors to resolve discrepancies and improve processes
- Assist with documentation, reporting, and ongoing process improvements
- Support leadership with departmental initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications
- Strong background in Accounts Payable, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Experience indirectly leading, mentoring, or serving as a go‑to resource for others (formal leadership title not required)
- Sales and use tax experience is required
- Comfortable stepping into a leadership role and taking ownership of responsibilities
- Experience with Vista Viewpoint is a plus, but not required
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
