Prepare and install upholstery materials, including wood, foam, and fabric. The role involves sewing leather fabric for workout benches and seats, laying out and cutting materials, and operating a cutting machine. Additionally, the upholsterer will stage materials for jobs per work order, use an oven to prepare vinyl, staple vinyl to pads, assemble pieces, attach backing, punch holes, batch finished pads by work order, box pads, make labels using a computer and label maker, check work quality, and operate vinyl picker and pallet jack.
Responsibilities
- Sew leather fabric for workout benches and seats.
- Layout and cut materials; operate cutting machine.
- Stage materials for jobs per work order.
- Use oven to prepare vinyl prior to stapling.
- Staple vinyl to pad using staple gun.
- Assemble pieces following established procedures; attach backing and punch holes.
- Batch finished pads by work order and place in appropriate area.
- Box pads as needed.
- Make labels using computer and label maker.
- Check work for quality.
- Operate vinyl picker and pallet jack.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- No previous experience required, but familiarity in manufacturing, upholstery, or sewing is preferred.
- Sewing experience is preferred.
- Strong job longevity.
- Ability to lift up to 5 lbs frequently, 20 lbs occasionally, and 40 lbs rarely.
- Must be able to use a tape measure, stand, bend, twist/turn, reach overhead, and grasp tools as necessary.

Work in a light industrial manufacturing environment that may be loud at times due to neighboring departments. The facility does not have air conditioning.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
