Job DescriptionJob Description: General LaborerJob Summary As a General Laborer you’re responsible for a variety of general duties at a specific site, including moving material, general housekeeping functions. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the industrial sector and be an integral part of a dynamic team.Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards.
- Responsible for maintaining their work environment – keeping it clean, safe, and organized.
- Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities.
- Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Transport merchandise between receiving stations and production areas.
- Operate manual material handling equipment such as a Hilo, hand jacks and wheeled carts safely.
- Operate machinery as directed by Supervisor.
- Handles and distinguishes between different materials, part numbers and component part numbers.
- Able to work overtime as needed.
Essential Skills & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Familiarity with using basic tools and machinery required for general labor tasks.
- Ability to read and write to complete any forms/material required for load traceability and other job data.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to follow established safety procedures to prevent accidents and maintain a safe workplace.
- Ability to work in various environments and adapt to changing work conditions as required.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Safety & Environmental Factors: All employees are expected to adhere to the company’s safety policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves working under extreme hot or cold conditions and requires the physical ability to stand for the entire shift, use hands for various tasks, ascend stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. Team members must occasionally lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Pay: $16 - $19/hr
