Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Clinical Therapist to join our mental health and behavioral health team. The ideal candidate will provide evidence-based psychotherapy and counseling services to diverse populations of adults, and seniors. This role involves conducting comprehensive assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering individual, and group family therapy in an outpatient setting as part of a PHP/IOP/OP clinic. The Clinical Therapist will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote mental wellness and support clients through crisis management and recovery processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9, ICD-10, and relevant medical terminology.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, applied behavior analysis, and other evidence-based practices.
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions addressing issues like trauma (PTSD care), grief, addiction, behavioral management, and more.
  • Utilize crisis intervention techniques to manage acute situations effectively while ensuring client safety.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records compliant with HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information while adhering to medical documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers on case management and coordinate care for patients with complex needs.
  • Participate in clinical research projects or data collection efforts aimed at improving therapeutic outcomes.
  • Stay current with medical coding (ICD-9/10, CPT) for accurate billing and recordkeeping.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance clinical skills and stay updated on best practices in mental health treatment.

Requirements

  • Masters degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling Psychology or related field; licensure or certification as required by state regulations.
  • Proven experience in psychotherapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, addiction counseling, grief counseling, or art/dance therapy preferred.
  • experience working with adults with SUD and MH diagnosis required.
  • Knowledge of crisis management techniques and experience working with patients experiencing trauma or PTSD.
  • Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for documentation and billing purposes.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical records management.
  • Ability to work effectively in outpatient clinic.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport across diverse populations including pediatrics and geriatrics.
  • Skills in social work practices, case management, behavior management strategies, and special education considerations are advantageous.
