Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the current school year, serving K-12 students in a district located approximately 45 minutes south of Washington, DC. This contract role begins January 5, 2026, and runs through May 29, 2026, with the possibility of part-time consideration for candidates able to work at least 20 hours per week. Assignments typically involve working with no more than two schools, focusing on elementary and middle school students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy services to a caseload of up to 55 students, with an average around 50
- Collaborate with school staff and families to support student communication needs
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students requiring support
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions and progress
- Participate in meetings and professional development as required
Qualifications:
- Active Virginia SLP licensure is mandatory
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; new graduates (Clinical Fellows) may be considered with supervision provided
- Experience working in school settings is preferred but not required
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively while maintaining service quality
Additional Details:
- Monday through Friday schedule, 37.5 hours per week (full-time)
- Caseload assignments will be tailored based on candidate fit and discussed during the interview process
- Candidates with Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) qualifications are encouraged to apply, though only SLPs will be directly hired
