Job DescriptionNow Hiring: Operations Technician – Clean Steel Manufacturing
Be part of the future of sustainable materials.Our client, a leader in clean steel manufacturing, is seeking a skilled Operations Technician to join their innovative team. This is an exciting opportunity to operate and maintain advanced electrochemical testing and process equipment supporting the scale-up of a groundbreaking manufacturing process.What You’ll Do:
- Operate a variety of chemical and hydrometallurgical equipment, including pumps, mixers, tanks, filtration systems, cranes, and conveyors
- Enable and monitor electrical test systems, manage equipment connections, and track live process data
- Take and record key process measurements (temperature, pressure, pH, conductivity, etc.) and collect samples for lab analysis
- Assist with equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement projects
- Support and participate in safety reviews and implement procedural enhancements
- Calibrate sensors and maintain accurate performance tracking
- Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and external agencies
- Follow all workplace safety and operational protocols
What You Bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred)
- 1+ year of hands-on industry experience (excluding internships/co-ops)
- Familiarity with process monitoring equipment (e.g., sensors, pumps, valves)
- Understanding of basic electrical concepts (voltage, current)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to safety
- Effective communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
Bonus Skills (Preferred, Not Required):
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with analytical techniques (pH, titration, ICP-OES)
- Familiarity with writing or modifying SOPs and safety procedures
Work Environment:
- Split between office, lab, and plant settings
- Exposure to fumes, chemicals, and mechanical/electrical equipment
- Regular use of computers, lab equipment, and power tools
- Must be comfortable with heights, confined spaces, and physical labor (lifting up to 50 lbs)
