Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years MS RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A 13-week contract opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with Med/Surg expertise to work night shifts in a hospital setting near Princeton, IN. This position requires a dedication to high-quality patient care within a 41-bed Med/Surg unit caring for post-surgical, sepsis, COPD, CHF, and high fall risk patients.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current active compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience including one travel assignment
- Trauma level II experience preferred
- Recent EPIC charting experience; checkoff class required
- Certifications: AHA BLS and NIHSS
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to manage chest tubes, NG/PEG tubes, Foley catheters, ostomies, Heparin drips, blood product administration, tracheostomy care, and PCA management
- Able to float within skillset between nearby campuses with prior notice
- Resilience, adaptability, and strong work ethic essential
- Social, team-oriented mindset
Shift and Schedule:
- 12-hour night shifts, 6:30pm7:00am
- Guaranteed 36 hours weekly; 48 hours available upon request
- Overtime after 52 hours for 48-hour contracts
- Three weekends required every six weeks
- No on-call or call-back responsibilities
- Orientation bi-weekly starting 4/20
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Unit and Work Environment:
- 41-bed Med/Surg unit with experienced leadership and CNA support
- Precepting responsibilities may arise since this is a teaching hospital
- Strict dress code: scrubs only, no competing logos
- COVID-19 vaccine currently not required
About the Location:Located near Princeton, IN, this facility serves a diverse patient population within an accessible region. Nurses will have opportunities to float between campuses approximately 8 to 11 miles apart with adequate notice, providing a dynamic and varied work experience.
