Position Summary:
The Financial Analyst plays a critical role in analyzing the firm’s financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making through financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. This highly skilled professional will evaluate business trends, client profitability, and key performance indicators, while developing tools and insights that enable effective resource allocation and financial planning across the organization. The role requires collaboration across departments and involves high-level work performed under minimal supervision with independent judgment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: "Essential functions" are primarily job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation made by the employer.
• Conduct financial analyses, including evaluations of cash flow, operating results, business plans, and investment returns.
• Develop, analyze, and manage annual operating budgets in collaboration with Practice Group Chairs (PGCs) and departmental leaders.
• Monitor actual performance against budgets; investigate variances and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, dashboards, and forecasting models to support strategic initiatives and executive decision-making.
• Evaluate the profitability of clients and assist in developing fee structures to optimize revenue generation.
• Provide financial consulting and guidance to business units, ensuring alignment with overall strategic and fiscal goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including accounting, billing, and legal project management to identify and implement process improvements.
• Work closely with the CFO on financial projects, cost analyses, and scenario planning.
• Design and enhance financial reporting tools and templates for PGCs and departmental use.
• Strengthen internal financial controls and support risk mitigation and compliance initiatives.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (or international equivalent); advanced degree or certification (e.g., CPA, CFA, MBA) preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive financial analysis experience, ideally within a professional services or corporate environment.
• Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools; advanced Excel skills required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal law office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, extreme temperature, and the like.
