Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support our client’s medical facility, based in Irving, TX, 75063.

Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist
Location: Irving, TX, 75063
Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 11 am - 7:30 pm (40hrs/week)
Pay Range: $30- $40 (Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.) The rate is based on years of DIRECT EXPERIENCE as listed in the resume
Job Role
Perform and analyze complex laboratory tests on patient specimens following established procedures. Ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Process and analyze specimens using approved procedures and instrumentation.
- Report, review, and release accurate test results, including STAT and critical values.
- Maintain documentation for test performance, quality control, calibrations, maintenance, and proficiency testing.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues affecting test performance; escalate as needed.
- Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and lab safety regulations.
- Ensure reagent/test kit inventory is properly labeled and maintained.
- Participate in training, department meetings, and continuing education.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and support department appearance.
- Assist during inspections and support compliance with regulatory bodies.
- Provide customer service and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Education Required
- Preferred: BS in Medical Technology
- Accepted: BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- Candidates previously qualified under 42 CFR 493.1433 (as of March 14, 1990) are eligible.
- Foreign-educated candidates: Must provide IERF credential evaluation.
- U.S.-educated candidates: Must provide official academic transcripts.
Experience Required
- Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience in high-complexity testing (required for candidates with Chemistry or Biology degrees).
- Clinical internship or hands-on lab training strongly preferred for Medical Technology graduates.
- Experience with quality control, lab information systems, and regulatory compliance is desirable.
- National and state licensure must be current or obtainable.
Qualifications Required
- National certification or eligibility as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from ASCP or AMT.
- Minimum 1-year clinical lab experience in high complexity testing preferred (required for non-Med Tech degrees).
- Must meet state and national licensure requirements, if applicable.
- Strong computer skills and ability to navigate multiple lab systems.
- Knowledge of QA/QC standards and safety protocols.
- Excellent multitasking, communication, and customer service skills.
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional integrity.
