Job Title: Risk Adjustment Coder (Temp-to-Perm)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Local candidates only)
Onsite Requirement: 3–5 days of initial onsite training, followed by 2–4 onsite days per month based on educational needs, site meetings, and workflow
Equipment: Provided
Interviews: 1st round remote; 2nd round in person

Job Summary
The Risk Adjustment Coder / Coding Educator provides education and training to physicians, mid-levels, and support staff on accurate HCC capture and documentation. This position performs prospective and retrospective chart reviews, conducts provider assessments, and delivers both one-on-one and group education sessions. Working under general supervision, the role plays a key part in ensuring accurate risk adjustment coding and documentation quality.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Active CPC certification required (no other coding certifications accepted)
- CRC certification preferred (in addition to CPC)
- 2–5 years of Risk Adjustment coding experience
- Strong ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Must own current ICD-10 coding books
Job Functions
- Abstract diagnosis codes in accordance with organizational policy to support provider and staff education on accurate HCC coding
- Develop and deliver targeted, practice-specific education sessions
- Serve as a coding resource and respond promptly to practice inquiries
- Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with physicians, clinical teams, administrative staff, and internal departments
- Coordinate with leadership to establish and maintain EMR access across practices
- Actively participate in departmental meetings and maintain required daily logs and process documentation
- Perform additional duties as assigned
