Job Title: Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (ER)
Location: Hyannis, MA 02601
Unit: Emergency Department
Duration: 13 Weeks (Extendable)
Shift Details:
- 36 hours per week
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
- Every other weekend required
- Rotating holidays required
- Note: No RTO permitted during the week of July 4
Weekly Compensation: Up to $2,800 (based on experience)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to manage complex patient cases effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive patient documentation
- Perform ongoing patient assessments including physical, psychological, and social needs
- Develop and communicate care plans with interdisciplinary teams
- Demonstrate proficiency in charge nurse responsibilities when required
- Use computerized nursing informatics systems effectively
- Serve as a resource and mentor for staff, including orientation and training support
- Participate in staff meetings, mandatory training, and quality improvement initiatives
- Monitor and evaluate patient care quality and outcomes
- Adhere to safety protocols including infection control and blood/body fluid policies
- Maintain ongoing professional development and continuing education
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience
- At least 1 year of travel ER RN experience
- Strong skills in IV administration, IV starts, ventilator care, and telemetry monitoring
- Successful completion of pharmacology and basic arrhythmia exams (as required by facility)
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Certifications Required
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS
- TNCC
Preferred Certifications
- ENPC
- PALS
- De-escalation Certification (preferred)

- Fast-paced Emergency Department setting
- High-acuity patient care
- Requires strong teamwork, adaptability, and clinical decision-making

- Candidates must be flexible with scheduling, including weekends and holidays
