Job Description

Job DescriptionShape Power, Enable Production

Forte Opening Solutions builds more than doors—we build possibilities. Join a team where precision craftsmanship meets advanced technology, and where your expertise helps keep a modern manufacturing environment running at its best.

A day in this role

Your morning might start on the production floor, reviewing inspection notes and planning conduit routes for a new machine cell. By midday, you’re diagnosing a controls issue on a PLC-driven line, fabricating a custom bracket, or threading pipe for a new install. In the afternoon, you could be up on the roof pulling wire, or outside stringing line between poles like a lineman—then back inside coaching an apprentice through safe use of a hydraulic conduit bender. Throughout the day, you read blueprints and, when prints aren’t available, you lay out runs from scratch. You wrap up by walking the area with the foreman, ensuring housekeeping and safety are on point.

What you’ll handle

  • Install, maintain, and repair high- and low-voltage equipment, signal systems, electric motors, generators, and electronic controls across the plant.
  • Construct and service overhead power lines—erect poles, string wire, and perform lineman duties safely and efficiently.
  • Measure, mark, lay out, and bend conduit; pull and terminate wire; fabricate components (e.g., frames for starters) as needed.
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams and blueprints; when none exist, design and route conduit and lines on site.
  • Perform frequent inspections to identify and address issues before they cause downtime.
  • Operate shop and field equipment: power saws, flame-cutting torches, electric and acetylene welding equipment, and pipe-threading machines; run additional machinery as required.
  • Lead with limited supervision over one or two electricians and apprentices; train apprentices to standard. Provide similar oversight to one or two instrument repairmen and helpers.
  • Assist other maintenance personnel with construction and general maintenance tasks; partner with the foreman to uphold safety and housekeeping.

Tools and tech you’ll use

  • Hand tools, feeler gauges, megger/test instruments, power drills
  • Hydraulic conduit benders, fuse pullers, hickeys
  • Power saws, flame-cutting torches, welding equipment (electric and acetylene), pipe-threaders
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)

Location

Marshfield, WI 54449

Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred (1+ year ideal).
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Comfort working at all plant levels—from roof to cellar—and outdoors on poles when needed.
  • Proven ability to read prints and lay out installations without drawings.
  • Hands-on familiarity with power distribution, motors, generators, and controls.
  • Ability to coach apprentices and provide limited supervision to small crews.

• Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
