Job Description
The BHT supports patients with mental health disorders, developmental disabilities by assisting with daily living activities and implementing therapeutic interventions under clinician supervision.
Mental/Behavioral Health Technician Adults/Peds
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Assist with hygiene, meal prep, and medication management; monitor and document patient behavior and well-being.
- Behavioral Support: Implement individual treatment plans and help patients develop coping skills.
- Crisis Intervention: Respond to crises, ensuring patient safety and de-escalating situations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, confidential records of patient interactions and treatment progress.
- Collaboration: Work with healthcare professionals on treatment planning; attend team meetings.
- Education and Support: Educate patients and families about mental health; facilitate group therapy and workshops.
- Compliance: Follow regulations and policies, including HIPAA and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma required; associate's degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in behavioral health is preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, crisis intervention, empathy, and documentation skills.
- Certifications: CPR/First Aid certification required; additional certifications like CBHT are a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift.

Must be able to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and or crawl.

Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Role requires focus and attention on all shifts including being able to remain vigilant, attentive and wakeful.

Must be able to pass at least three consecutive days of safety hold training including meeting rigorous physical requirements.

Patients may exhibit unsafe behaviors, limited capacity, limited coping skills and or limited abilities to complete activities of their daily living.

Training requirements must be met to ensure competency for the employee to support those behaviors and or limitations.

Role is physically and or emotionally demanding.

Must be resilient and understand mindfulness.

Must understand and practice social awareness, empathy, emotional agility, self-regulation and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions: May work in clinical, residential, or community settings with potential exposure to challenging behaviors; flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays, may be required.
Pay starts at $17.00 and hour with an earning potential of up to $25.50 based on education, experience in the field and shift.
We have full-time, part-time and PRN positions available.

Behavioral Health Technician-Day Shift (7:00a-3:30pm)
Behavioral Health Technician-Weekday Evening (3:00p-11:30p)
Available shift differentials:
Weekday evenings: $3.00
Weekend (Friday at 7pm-Monday 7am) $2.00
Overnight $2.00
