Penick Village Inc., a Continuing Care Life Planning Community is seeking a creative, resourceful and enthusiastic Independent Living Life Enrichment Associate (IL LEA) to join our Life Enrichment Team.

Purpose of Job Position:

The Life Enrichment Associate is responsible for the planning, implementation, scope, and emphasis of life enrichment programs that encourage and stimulate independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and Garden Cottage residents to fuller and richer lives. Responsibilities also include the creation of the Independent Living and Garden Cottage calendars and driving the bus for outings across all levels of care.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Must be present at work at the scheduled time. Normal hours are 9:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday with potential to cover weekends and evenings as needed.

Help coordinate, implement, and document a variety of life enrichment opportunities and events that nurture the mind, body, and spirit for Independent, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, and Garden Cottage Residents.

Helps implement activities within Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and Garden Cottage.

Assists with individual Life Enrichment Assessments for Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing residents on an as needed basis.

Helps distribute all published Life Enrichment calendars, newsletters, etc.

Aids in the creation and implementation of a calendar of events for Independent Living that outlines what activities will be provided in the upcoming month.

Must coordinate and drive a variety of outings for the Independent Residents, including some evening and weekend events.

Will create sign-up sheets, flyers and other publicity items to promote events

Provides variety and choice in Life Enrichment activities at Penick Village.

Works with Dining Services to support their life enrichment events and to supply a variety of appropriate food during life enrichment events. (i.e. – Happy Hour, Wine Club, etc.)

Must understand and accept the responsibility of being flexible in their working hours to meet the needs of the residents on nights, weekends and holidays.

Coordinates holiday decorations with residents and staff for the campus.

Organize LE equipment and materials and keep all areas clean and residents friendly.

Assist with departmental shopping for all areas.

Performs any duties or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by the Life Enrichment Coordinator or Senior Director of Resident Services.

Educational Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent GED and valid driver's license
  • Activity Director/Assistant certification or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to drive 14 passenger bus.
  • Must stay current with any professional certifications, as well as Penick Village and departmental training.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency with computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Excel and learn how to utilize Touchtown computer software for calendar generation.
