Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiac cath lab and EP procedures for a 13-week acute care assignment.
Details
- Acute care hospital cardiac cath lab setting with 2 cath lab suites and 1 dedicated vascular suite
- Patient population includes right and left heart cath with or without intervention, structural heart cases (TAVR, MitraClip), and vascular cases
- Average of 22 total cases per day across Cath Lab and EP, with potential for up to 15 add-on cases
- Technologists are responsible for scrubbing and documentation
- EMR is Epic; GE Imaging and MacLab equipment are used
- 8-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, with call; candidates should expect to work past the standard end time to complete cases
- 8–10 days of call required per 6-week period
- May float to the EP lab as needed; all suites operate as a combined unit with a one-team approach
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab and EP experience required
- Active RCIS, ARRT (or RCES), ACLS, and BLS certifications required; pending certifications are not accepted
- Experience with IABP and Impella insertion required
- Experience with sedation and Phase 1 recovery required; ICU or PACU experience is a plus
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Experience with GE Imaging equipment preferred
- Active state or compact (NLC) license required if applicable; pending licenses will not be accepted
- A copy of your driver's license is required for consideration
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
Additional Information
- Technologists scrub, monitor, and document during cardiac cath, structural heart, vascular, and EP procedures
- Knowledge of IABP and Impella insertion is essential to this role
- Experience with prep and recovery (circulating, prep, and recovery) is preferred
- Unit is led by a charge nurse, lead technologist, supervisor, and director; a lead tech is available when staffing allows
- Orientation is approximately 1 week in length
- Scrubs are provided
- Candidates must be a strong team player and comfortable working beyond the standard shift end time to complete cases
- Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by a CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity-affiliated facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered
- Candidates residing in AZ, NV, NE, IA, or MN must live at least 50 miles from the facility; candidates in CO, KS, or UT must live at least 60 miles from the facility
