Position Summary

Directs the activities of warehouse personnel involved in the receiving of various products into the facility, movements of product within the facility, and the picking and loading of product shipping out of the facility; ensures that all policies and procedures are followed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises all shipping and receiving activities performed by the warehouse crew; maintains a high degree of visibility and access to employees on the warehouse floor throughout the shift.
  • Manages all receiving and shipping office paperwork flow
  • Establishes and maintains department standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy.
  • Reviews, prioritizes and organizes all orders to be picked and/or shipped during shift.
  • Forecasts crewing needs to meet peak demands and efficiency goals of the business
  • Trains, motivates, coaches, rewards, and manages performance for crew; resolves personnel issues in partnership with HR.
  • Coordinates with the warehouse leadership to manage personnel issues including but not limited to vacation approvals, timecard approval, daily and weekly overtime, hiring, and training.
  • Coordinates with corporate Purchasing and Supply Chain to develop delivery and pick up schedules
  • Leads crew by example by loading trucks and/or performing other duties as necessary.
  • Performs required administrative tasks; prepares required reports and correspondence.
  • Assists shipping leadership with the development and implementation of policies and procedures; ensures all established policies and procedures are followed by crew.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of storage areas and receiving docks both inside and outside of the facility
  • Assists with inventory activities; supervises inventory control process including but not limited to check-in/check-out, settlement, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Resolves warehouse-related issues with representatives from other departments throughout the company.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all operating systems pertaining to the work area.
  • Maintains safety programs and all required safety training for the crew.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Minimum, two to four years related experience or equivalent.
  • Strong inventory control skills.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations best practices.
  • Forklift certified with reach truck expert proficiency
  • Proficiency in RF Scanners and SAP, required
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates
  • Competence in subordinates’ duties and tasks
  • Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to delegate work assignments, gives authority to work independently, sets expectations, and monitor progress
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both private and group settings
  • Ability to understand all safety requirements and cautions
  • Good time management and the ability to effectively prioritize personal and subordinate expectations
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
  • Basic Computer skills including professional digital communication, the Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to learn and utilize new and changing IT related tools and applications.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Work is performed in a manufacturing and office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required:

  • Standing and/or walking throughout the shift
  • Perform physical skills: hold, feel, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear and listen
  • Lifting /Carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Use of both hands when required, some repetitive motion required
  • Work in both extreme hot and cold temperatures as well as wet conditions.
