Position Summaryof the Document Control Specialist Role at Altek Electronics:

The Document Control Specialist is responsible for clerical duties related to the maintenance of technical documentation.

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Document Control Specialist are described below, other duties may be assigned:

  • Read and interpret bills of material, fabrication drawings and assembly drawings
  • Verify manufacturer part numbers and descriptions
  • Review customer documentation packages for thoroughness and cohesiveness
  • File, organize and maintain related documentation
  • Enter and maintain data in various systems
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to clarify information and solve problems
  • Use the internet to research components as required (specifications, environmental, etc.)
  • Schedule and host various meetings, document & file the outputs
  • Complete related forms and logs.
  • Notify stakeholders of changes
  • Participate in corrective actions, kaizens, and other process improvement activities
  • Assist in documenting departmental activities
  • Responsible for following established safety rules & 6S

Knowledge and Skills Required to be the Document Control Specialist at Altek

  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must work well with others in a team environment
  • Must be customer oriented with strong interpersonal skills
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must have good organizational skills
  • Must respond well to a fast-paced, changing work environment
  • Must be able to solve problems and be solution oriented
  • Must be willing to take direction from senior management
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with an ERP/PLM system is preferred

Education and/or Experience

  • College degree or commensurate work experience.
  • Previous experience with electronics preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
