Job Summary

The Restaurant Manager oversees all food and beverage service within the club's dining outlets, including a la carte restaurants, bars, and special events. They are the "face" of the dining room, greeting members by name and ensuring that service is delivered in line with the club’s premium standards. This role typically reports to the Food & Beverage Director or Clubhouse Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Member Relations & Service Excellence: Greet and seat members personally. Anticipate member needs and resolve complaints immediately to maintain high satisfaction.
  • Operational Management: Oversee daily front-of-house (FOH) operations, including room setups, opening/closing procedures, and floor management during peak hours.
  • Staff Leadership & Training: Recruit, hire, and train service staff in the club's specific service protocols. Conduct daily "line-up" meetings to review specials and guest expectations.
  • Financial Oversight: Assist in developing and managing operating budgets. Control labor costs through efficient scheduling and manage inventory of beverages and supplies to minimize waste.
  • Event Coordination: Collaborate with the catering and culinary teams to execute club social events, weddings, and private banquets.
  • Administrative Duties: Manage payroll, approve invoices, and maintain point-of-sale (POS) systems (e.g., Jonas, NS, or Clubessential).


Requirements:

  • Experience: Typically 3–5 years of management experience in hospitality, with a strong preference for private club, luxury resort, or fine dining backgrounds.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is often preferred.
  • Certifications: Required or preferred certifications often include ServSafe Food Protection Manager, Alcohol Safety (e.g., TIPS), and Certified Club Manager (CCM) status.
  • Core Competencies:
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Expertise in wines, beers, and spirits.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and club-specific management software.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand/walk for long shifts and lift up to 50 lbs.
