  • Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm – 7:30am), every other weekend, rotating holidays\n

\n\nJob Requirements / Qualifications\n

    \n
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing\n
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts\n
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room (ER) RN experience\n
  • At least 1 year of ER travel nurse experience preferred\n
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required)\n
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification (required)\n
  • Successful passage of Pharmacology and Basic Arrhythmia exams\n
  • Demonstrated skills in IV administration and IV starts, ventilator care, and telemetry monitoring\n
  • Experience with computerized nursing informatics / electronic medical records (EMR)\n
  • TNCC, ENPC, and PALS certifications preferred\n
  • Completion of an approved de-escalation certification course preferred\n
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English\n

\n\nEmergency Department Responsibilities\n

  • Deliver patient-centered care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the Emergency Department (ED)\n
  • Triage and manage acute medical and trauma patients, demonstrating strong ER clinical judgment\n
  • Administer and monitor patient responses to medications and treatments\n
  • Perform IV starts, manage ventilator care, and monitor telemetry as needed\n
  • Direct and guide patient care, teaching, and activities of ancillary personnel\n
  • Maintain accurate, timely patient records and document assessments, interventions, and discharge plans\n
  • Summarize assessment data and initiate plans of care, communicating pertinent information to allied health providers\n
  • Demonstrate proficiency as charge nurse and in computerized nursing informatics\n
  • Serve as a resource for patient care, orientation, and staff education\n
  • Participate in unit staff meetings, mandatory programs, and ongoing professional development\n
  • Adhere to safety protocols, blood/body fluid policies, and maintain patient confidentiality\n
  • Consistently provide service excellence to patients, families, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers\n
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor\n
