Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) degree, active Physical Therapy Assistant license, and 1+ years Physical Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful impact in local schools as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract role offers the opportunity to empower students to thrive, working collaboratively with educators and families to support physical development and access to learning. The position follows the school calendar, with start and end dates from August 4, 2026, through May 27, 2027 (dates subject to school calendar changes), and involves a 37.5-hour workweek.
Qualifications:
- Active, valid PTA licensure in accordance with all state requirements
- Experience in a school setting preferred, but open to PTAs passionate about pediatrics
- Ability to adapt therapeutic interventions for a diverse caseload of students
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Commitment to providing inclusive, student-centered services
- Familiarity with IEP process and school documentation expectations
Responsibilities:
- Provide physical therapy interventions to students as outlined in their IEPs and educational plans
- Collaborate with teachers, occupational therapists, and other school staff to facilitate student participation and access to the curriculum
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation of sessions, progress, and student outcomes
- Contribute to team meetings and parent conferences as needed
- Adjust therapy strategies to address changing student needs throughout the school year
- Foster a positive, encouraging environment that helps students build confidence and functional skills
