Radiology Oncology Systems, Inc (ROS) is excited to announce two new opportunities for linear accelerator service engineers. If you have a background that includes linear accelerator systems, this is an opportunity to join a dynamic, energetic company helping lower the costs of healthcare and cancer care all over the world.
The ideal candidate is a technically skilled, self-driven professional with hands-on experience in Varian linear accelerators or other related equipment systems.
One position is based in Lansing, Michigan, and the other in Southern California.
In Lansing, you will work principally out of the Radparts division which is the operations center of the business. You will work with a great team of industry veterans to help de-install and re-install equipment systems, help customers that are preparing for linac installations, do site visits to installation and de-installation sites, backup system software. You will travel on short term assignments to do PMI’s, site inspections, removals, and to support installation projects.
In the metro Los Angeles area, you will work under an experienced, senior level linac engineer to maintain various Varian linear accelerator systems treating patients. You will work closely with the local physicists, engineers, and therapists, ensuring maximum uptime for each machine, mostly Varian C-Series linacs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration on medical and industrial linear accelerators.
- Collaborate with vendors, IT, and clinical teams on upgrades, installations, and emergency service events.
- Maintain detailed service documentation, QA records, and compliance with state, and federal regulations.
- Site inspections to review equipment and fill out inspection reports
- Site management/project management (e.g. guiding local contractors)
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair linear accelerator systems
- First-line support on other types of equipment, including CT, PET/CT, etc.
- Help ROS to further develop its Quality Management Systems
- Training & coaching of other engineers (e.g. first-call support engineers in Latin America)
- Phone support for TrueBeam and related projects
- Rigging supervision & training. Help develop SOP for rigging and installations
- Involvement in parts business management, warehouse management, parts testing & shipping
- Install and calibrate CT and LINAC lasers, surface tracking, and other accessories
- Participate in internal strategy/business meetings
- Participate in internal and external project calls
- Help with marketing/product/website content
- Training/supporting other ROS engineers as needed
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience servicing Varian linear accelerators (TrueBeam, Trilogy, or comparable systems).
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and software troubleshooting skills.
· Proficiency in the installation and maintenance of various types of equipment
· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and machinery
· A valid driver's license and a clean driving record
· Physical stamina and ability to work in a physically demanding environment
· Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations
· Familiarity with radiation therapy workflows and clinical operations.
· Excellent documentation, analytical, and communication skills.
· IT/networking proficiency (firewalls, switches, IP configurations, and VPN access).
· Knowledge of radiation safety procedures and acceptance testing.
