Commercial Door Experience Required
Position Overview
The Estimator for Division 8 will be responsible for accurately estimating costs associated with commercial door projects, ensuring that project bids are competitive and profitable. This role requires a strong understanding of Division 8 materials and systems, as well as the ability to collaborate with contractors and clients to deliver precise and timely estimates.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze project plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for Division 8 materials and systems.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather information needed for estimating.
- Utilize Comsense software to generate detailed and precise estimates for commercial door projects.
- Prepare and submit bid proposals to clients, ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and ensure competitive bids.
- Monitor project costs and adjust estimates as necessary throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather additional information for accurate estimating.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in estimating for Division 8, particularly commercial doors and related systems.
- Proficient in using Comsense and other estimating software.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and materials related to Division 8.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in cost estimation.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with project teams and clients.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
