Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Join a dedicated educational team as a full-time Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) serving K-12 students. This itinerant position provides specialized support for visually impaired students throughout the district, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development. The role is contract-based for the 2026-2027 school year, with multiple openings available.
Location: Camp Lejeune, NC
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired students across K-12 grade levels.
- Work itinerantly, providing specialized services and collaborating with general education teachers, families, and related service providers.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) while monitoring student progress.
- Train and consult with staff and families to foster an inclusive and accessible learning environment.
- Utilize specialized assessment methods and assistive technology to enhance student learning.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.
- Experience working with visually impaired students in a K-12 setting preferred.
- Strong skills in assessment, curriculum adaptation, and use of assistive technology.
- Ability to manage an itinerant schedule effectively across multiple school locations.
