JOB TITLE: Senior Accountant Analyst
REPORTS TO: Finance and Administration Director
JOB PURPOSE: Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by compiling information, preparing analysis, and utilizing appropriate accounting procedures supporting the Director of Accounting and the Accounting team.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Manage fixed assets processes in collaboration with various departments
- Support the organization’s daily accounting functions
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities
- Manage day to-day tasks using the following technologies: - SAP, Hyperion Planning and/or HFM – Excel and the Office suite
- Support the improvement of current accounting operations, offer recommendations for standardization, and implement new processes
- Perform significant functional activities related to the general ledger and internal reporting
- Maintain familiarity with internal control activities/ account reconciliations
- Manage intercompany reconciliations and transactions.
- Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Oversee physical inventory control
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities
- Participate in internal and external audits and prepare documentation for these activities; including, but not limited to process controls, audits, and compliance processes implementation
- Assist with ad hoc reporting and perform special projects upon request
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree required: Business Management, Accounting or equivalent
- Advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and internal control principles
- Proven experiences with fixed assets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments to strict deadlines
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
- Proven skills as a team member or team lead on at least one full life cycle implementation
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, and discretion is required
- Willingness to work flexible schedule and long hours when needed
