Job Description Batch Mixing and Packaging Specialist What you’ll do
- Follow batch card directions to stage raw materials and charge hand-adds to produce finished products that meet customer specifications.
- Confirm TA item code numbers before charging, verify lot numbers and material weights, and record all lot numbers on the batch card.
- Clean and inspect the blender to ensure readiness, then stage and prepare for the next compound charge.
- Report any deviation from procedures to supervision and document the variation on the batch card.
- Coordinate blender production with other operating areas to maintain flow and schedule.
- Review the production schedule; follow customer packaging instructions so every unit is packed, labeled, weighed, and sealed correctly; escalate any issues to the Bagger Leadman.
- Generate labels and accurately align/affix them to containers.
- Perform timely, efficient, and clean changeovers on packaging equipment while using required safety equipment; communicate with mill area operators after changeover.
- Prepare packaging materials for upcoming work (e.g., Gaylords, Supersacks, etc.).
- Scan/enter finished product into the computer system.
- Maintain good housekeeping and wear required PPE at all times.
- Meet or exceed plant KPIs and actively support Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Learn the Line 4 Blending area and be prepared to fill in on other jobs as needed.
What you bring
- Read/comprehend English with solid math ability.
- Capability to operate (or learn to operate) a forklift and use an electric hand truck.
