● Unit Information:
o Beds: 24
▪ Census? Average patients/day? ~ 100
o Minimum Years of Experience required? Two years, previous experience in trauma center preferred
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Respiratory distress/Respiratory illnesses, Asthma Exacerbation, Trauma, Fractures, Fever, Gastrointestinal illness, Seizures, Oncology complications, Nausea, vomiting
● Patient Ratios:
o RN: 1:4
o CNA: Rotating/varies
● Required Licensure & Certifications:
o BLS, PALS, TNCC
● Skills required:
o Preferred trauma experience/skills, PIV placement, pediatric skills preferred
● Support within the Department:
o CNA: Stocking unit, assisting transport to inpatient units, assisting holds for procedures, vital signs, patient observation for behavioral health patients
o Receptionist/HUC, 24/7
o Charge nurse
o Phlebotomy: Not available
o IV/VAT Team: Not available
o Resource Nurse: Not available
o RT, 24/7
o Hospitalist, 24/7
o Intensivist, 24/7
o Telemetry monitoring – no tech for ED
● Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC
o IV Pump: Alaris
o Med dispensing: Omnicell
o Monitors: Phillips
o Unit specific equipment: Life Flow, Belmont, Level One Infuser

● Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: Every other weekend

o Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
o RTO: Resource Team approval
o Shift times: Shifts worked on unit: 0730-1930, 1130-2330, 1530-0330, 1930-0730
o Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
