Pavement Recycling Systems is an employee-owned company who is a leader in the Pavement Preservation industry, is seeking an Lab Technician for our Colton, CA plant.

Plans for the most cost-effective utilization of materials. Applies knowledge of material science to recommend engineering and manufacturing changes to attain company's design objectives in the most economical and safest manner possible.
Primary Responsibilities
- Research and development on existing and new products
- Receives, ID’s, and safely stores the materials to be tested
- Performs laboratory testing of slurry seals, aggregates, hot mix asphalt, cold in-place recycling (CIR), soils, mastic materials, and/or asphalt emulsions following requirements
- Records test and report results
- Organizes and stores materials and data according to the laboratory’s policy
- Maintains areas clean and organized
- Performs maintenance on equipment as per manufacturer or standards requirements
- Maintains equipment records
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Certified to conduct QC/QA material samples in compliance with prescribed specifications in accordance with AASHTO, ASTM, and Caltrans.
- ASTM and other qualified training certification centers will be provided to gain recertification, certification, and additional skills to complete assigned tasks
- Technicians will be certified to do all tests instructed to conduct
- Must be able to obtain certifications and renew certification before they expire
- Display a high level of organization and prioritization for tasks at hand
- Demonstrates flexibility to effectively deal with changing priorities and timelines through analytical problem solving
- Proven time management and follow-through skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks with tight deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team-oriented environment
- Display superior written and oral communication skills and effective listening skills
- Maintains a tactful, mature and professional demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse personnel
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred but not required
- 4 or more years of experience in mix design testing, particularly hot mix asphalt and cold in-place recycling (CIR)
- Familiarized and have expertise in testing mastic materials, soil, aggregates, and emulsified asphalt
- They must read, understand, and follow ASTM, AASHTO, DOT county, municipalities, or any other agency testing methods
- High Volume environment
- AASHTO R18 documentation
- Experience with Microsoft software such as Word, and Excel
