OVERVIEW:

Responsible for financial analysis of our commercial customers of varying complexity and size. Identifying risk, reviewing requests against bank policy and evaluating loan structure are all components of this role. Supporting the Bank’s Credit Officer with credit & risk analysis and all other supporting functions of the Bank’s commercial loan portfolio.

  • Review and spread financial information received and create cash flow.
  • Complete analysis of annual reviews on existing accounts and new loan requests. Prepare written reports to be presented for approval. Analysis will include financial, collateral position, guarantor strength and risk assessment.
  • Receive & review all loan packages from the Lenders for completeness. Inform lenders of any missing items that will be needed for underwriting. Assure proper compliance documentation is maintained in the loan files.
  • Maintain electronic credit files. This includes scanning all documents and reports to be utilized to underwrite a loan.
  • Provide support with portfolio management. This can include but is not limited to tracking financial statements, renewal dates on loans and communicating information to the Lender(s) and Borrower(s) accordingly.
  • Conduct thorough financial, cash flow, and collateral analysis of credit requests.
  • Provide support to Commercial Loan Processor on appraisal reviews, term sheets, commitment letters and closing loans as needed.
  • Assign risk rating outlining strengths and weaknesses of each credit.
  • Perform recommendations based on analysis and assessment of risk within the framework of the Banks credit culture, current economic condition, and industry trends.
  • Clear and concise technical writing with understanding of accounting, various financial statements, ratios, forecasting, and concepts.
  • Efficiently manage deadlines in a high-pressure work environment.
  • Review all pertinent credit and financial information, including but not limited to financial statements, tax returns, due diligence reports, credit bureaus, appraisals, internal credit information, industry research and peer data. Determine the need for more thorough investigation or additional information.
  • Analyze financial information and related materials and complete the credit analyses for the Bank’s commercial transactions. Written analyses to include an independent credit quality assessment with well-supported risk rating, identification of and description of credit risks and mitigants, industry concerns, market trends, financial trends, and other pertinent credit issues of respective deals.
  • Other tasks assigned by Management.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES:

  • 3 years’ experience as Credit Analyst at a financial institution required.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience required.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and analysis of credit metrics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Customer focused with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
