STATEMENT OF JOB
The actor is responsible for portraying a character in a live or recorded performance, bringing depth, authenticity, and emotional range to every role. The actor works closely with the director and fellow cast members to deliver compelling performances that engage and move the audience.
JOB DUTIES
- Read, analyze, and interpret scripts to understand the role and the nuances of the character. Work with the director and other actors to develop the character's arc and motivations.
- Attend and actively participate in all rehearsals, including blocking, scene study, and character work.
- Perform assigned roles convincingly, bringing depth and authenticity to each character through voice, physicality, and emotions. Make adjustments when given feedback by the Director. Deliver high-quality performances for live audiences, ensuring that each portrayal is consistent, engaging, and true to the character.
- Work closely with the director, fellow actors, and crew to ensure a cohesive and dynamic performance. Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Prepare mentally and physically for each performance, utilizing acting techniques, physical training, and/or vocal exercises as necessary to embody the character fully.
- Help to create an environment that is conducive to the rehearsal process.
- Attend all rehearsals as deemed necessary by the Stage Manager.
