Volt is immediately hiring Lab Tech II with a well-known industry leader in Maplewood, MN.
This is a first shift position.
As a Lab Tech II you will:
- Perform a wide range of laboratory tests and experiments on industrial products, following established protocols and procedures
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate multiple pieces of equipment used in the preparation and testing of abrasive samples
- Prepare and characterize samples and resins using prescribed formulations and test methods while adhering to strict safety guidelines
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data accurately and efficiently
- Document and report test results, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during testing
- Maintain g clean equipment and lab space for safe operation
Estimated Duration up to 24 months.
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 2 years working in a laboratory setting in a private, public, government, or military environment.
- Consistent, reliable transportation to this on-site job.
Preferred Skills
- Strong technical and/or mechanical background
- Experience with pilot or production manufacturing equipment
- Familiarity with safe chemical handling practices
- Hands-on, self-starter approach
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Comfort working with equipment user interfaces and Microsoft Excel
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Reliability and consistency
- BS Degree preferred, Chemistry, Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering
Pay Rate: $27.48 per hour
