MANDATE
The Electromechanical Technician – Machine Tool Assembler is responsible for the mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical assembly of industrial machine tools in accordance with plans, diagrams, and technical specifications. The role actively contributes to equipment commissioning, functional testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble mechanical and electrical components of machine tools
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and diagrams
- Perform electrical wiring and connect motors, sensors, actuators, and control panels
- Conduct functional testing, diagnostics, and adjustments to ensure proper machine operation
- Participate in equipment commissioning and optimization
- Identify non-conformities and propose improvement solutions
- Comply with quality, safety, and occupational health standards
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and technical service teams
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow health and safety guidelines (PPE, work methods, procedures, etc.)
- Document completed work and any modifications made
PROFILE AND REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS/DEP) in Electromechanics of Automated Systems or equivalent
- Experience assembling industrial machinery or machine tools (an asset)
- Strong knowledge of industrial electricity, mechanics, and automation
- Knowledge of CNC systems and programmable logic controllers (PLC) (an asset)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Comfortable using measuring and alignment tools
- Good physical condition
