Executive Chef - Healthcare | Location: Boise, ID 83704
Pay: $69,000 annually, with potential for 5% performance-based bonus! | Full-Time
Schedule: 8am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday. No work on major holidays
Job Summary
As an Executive Chef at Thomas Cuisine, you will spearhead and elevate culinary experiences. You will lead a talented team of culinary professionals, drive innovation, and set new standards for excellence in a healthcare setting.
What You'll Do
- Inspire Change: Lead a transformative culinary vision that revitalizes our dining services, aligning with our commitment to excellence, innovation and our REAL Food mission. Drive change and inspire your team to achieve new heights.
- Menu Development: Innovate and curate diverse, seasonal, and nutritious menus that not only cater to the tastes and dietary needs of our residents but also set new benchmarks in senior living dining.
- Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service are consistently met, turning our dining experience into a benchmark of excellence.
- Team Building: Recruit, train, and mentor a passionate culinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Resident Satisfaction: Cultivate a culture of feedback and collaboration with residents and community leadership to continuously improve and elevate their dining experience, ensuring their voices drive our culinary evolution.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee kitchen operations with a keen eye for efficiency and innovation. Manage budgets effectively while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring a seamless and superior dining operation.
- Community Involvement: Elevate our culinary reputation through community events, cooking demonstrations, and partnerships with local farms and vendors. Showcase our commitment to excellence and community engagement.
- Catering Opportunities: You'll get the opportunity to host occasional small catering events as part of the role (typically held a few times a year or as needed.)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring
- Five (5) plus years of proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar leadership role in a structured culinary environment.
- Passion for culinary innovation and a commitment to excellence.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Exceptional culinary skills with a focus on nutrition and presentation.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be willing to work hands-on with a small staff
- ServSafe® Certification and State Food Handlers Card
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
- High School Diploma/GED
Physical and Sensory Requirements
This job involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and a kitchen environment with fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise. Employees must have the physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift trays, and perform repetitive tasks.
