Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing and managing costs in our manufacturing processes, ensuring accuracy in cost reporting and supporting financial decision-making. The Cost Accountant will play a critical role in optimizing costs and enhancing profitability through effective cost analysis and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare periodic cost reports
- Develop and maintain cost standards for products and services
- Collaborate with various departments to support budgeting and forecasting
- Monitor inventory levels and assess cost implications of inventory management
- Provide cost analysis to management for strategic decision-making
- Prepare reports on landed costs and assist in cost-saving initiatives
- Support the financial reporting team with relevant cost data
- Conduct regular audits of costs and implement corrective actions as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices
- Experience with 3PL (third-party logistics) and logistics costs
- Proficient in financial reporting and analysis
- CPA or CMA certification is a plus
- Knowledge of landed cost modeling is preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
