Job Description
Our client is seeking a Project Engineer to support field operations, production tracking, surveying, and safety compliance on complex marine construction projects. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in the field, enjoy hands‑on coordination, and want to work on high‑impact USACE and coastal infrastructure projects.

Please Note: Onsite role with travel to remote project sites.
Responsibilities:
Field Coordination & Production
- Coordinate labor, equipment, and material needs.
- Document quantities for payment and prepare progress reports.
- Support daily field operations with superintendents and foremen.
- Track production quantities, equipment usage, and progress against goals.
Surveying & Bathymetry
- Perform progress surveys and verify installation.
- Assemble cross‑sections and bathymetry maps.
- Support hydrographic and topographic surveying.
Safety & Quality Compliance
- Participate in and lead safety meetings.
- May serve as SSHO or QC Manager on USACE projects.
- Prepare safety documentation, AHAs, and compliance reports.
- Enforce MSHA, OSHA, USACE, and company safety policies.
Project Documentation & Scheduling
- Support as‑builts, layout, and progress photos.
- Assist with project schedules and identify potential delays.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, contracts, and progress payments.
Travel
- Ability to work out‑of‑town for extended periods.
- Weekend work may be required depending on project schedule.
Qualifications/Must Haves:
- Ability to obtain a TWIC.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
- Strong construction document control experience.
- 5+ years of experience in marine or heavy civil construction.
- Ability to enforce MSHA, OSHA, and USACE safety policies.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Highly Preferred:
- Experience with Hypack.
- Estimating experience (HeavyBid)
- Experience on USACE projects.
- Familiarity with EM 385‑1‑1 requirements.
- EM 385‑1‑1 training for SSHO or QC roles.
- Hydrographic/topographic surveying experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in marine environments.
- Ability to walk, climb, lift 50+ lbs., and work on marine equipment.
