We are seeking an Accountant at Lynn Community Health Center!

This role will have a primary focus on pharmacy, grants and contracts, and financial planning/analysis. This role presents a fantastic opportunity for an energetic, thoughtful candidate interested in a career in a healthcare setting to gain exposure to a multitude of different business lines. The Accountant may report to the controller, accounting manager, or director depending on coverage needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • History of good attendance and positive work attitude

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monthly General Ledger closing entries.
  • Maintenance of trial balance and reconciliation of General ledger accounts.
  • Assist with monthly financial statement packages.
  • Monthly billing and reporting of Grants and Contracts.
  • Assist in preparation and analysis of departmental budgets.
  • Provide support for regular and ad-hoc analyses, primarily related to pharmac

In addition to the above, the following duties may be assigned, as needed:

  • Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data, preparing reports.
  • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Documents transactions by entering account information.
  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Maintains accounting controls by following, preparing, and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
  • Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
  • Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
