Join a groundbreaking, state-of-the-art facility in the corrugated packaging industry. This role offers the unique opportunity to be part of a newly established site equipped with the latest technology, designed to enhance production efficiency. We are seeking a highly motivated Clamp Truck/Forklift Operator ready to contribute to a fast-paced environment while prioritizing safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Operate clamp trucks and forklifts to move rolls from trucks and warehouses to the corrugator for consumption.
  • Recognize and correct or report any safety, quality, or production issues using provided tools.
  • Work hands-on with limited supervision, demonstrating initiative and a self-driven approach.
  • Follow instructions and work constructively to meet shipment deadlines and conduct unloading within guidelines.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and intervene if observing unsafe practices by coworkers.
  • Ensure high levels of quality, productivity, and attention to detail.
  • Communicate with operators, superintendents, shipping department, and customer service to assure loads are accurate and damage-free.
  • Offload incoming loads timely and place them in the correct location.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of Roll Clamp Truck Forklift experience.
  • Ability to work overtime, typically 60 hours Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday work.
  • Proficiency in reading measuring tapes and rulers, and using basic shop math.
  • Capacity to learn and follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail and dexterity in controlling equipment to prevent damage.
  • Comfortable lifting up to 60 lbs throughout the day.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Corrugated or converting industry experience preferred but not required.
  • Proven attendance record.
  • Drive for results and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently with a team-first mindset.

Work Environment

Experience working in a spacious 550,000 square foot facility with modern technology and well-ventilated areas, though not climate controlled. Safety gear including steel-toed boots, safety vests, glasses, and ear protection are mandatory. The facility is still completing construction, requiring temporary hard hat use. Candidates should be prepared to be on their feet, utilizing spacious work areas in the Converting and Corrugating Departments. Currently operating on the first shift, with plans to expand to second and third shifts by the end of the year.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
