PS Companies is seeking a travel nurse RN CVU - Cardiovascular Unit for a travel nursing job in Evansville, Indiana.

Position: Cardiac Renal Unit Stepdown RN
Start Date: 7/14 (Bi-weekly orientation)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week (will accept 48 upon request)
OT Policy: OT begins after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts
Shift: 12-hour Days (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) or 2-hour Nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Float Requirement:

  • 2-hour notice required for cross-campus float
  • Mid-shift float within same campus is rare
  • Cross-campus mid-shift float unlikely

On-Call/Call Back: Not required
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: 3 weekends every 6 weeks; every other holiday

Required Certifications (submit with profile):

  • Active Compact RN License
  • AHA BLS
  • AHA ACLS
  • NIHSS

Minimum Experience Required:

  • 3 years of strong Cardiac/Tele experience
  • 2 completed travel assignments
  • Trauma Level II experience

Charting System:

  • EPIC (required; will need to pass a checkoff class)

Patient Population:

  • High acuity: Tele/M/S mix
  • Cardiac heavy: Afib with RVR, flutter, blocks
  • Heart cath without interventions
  • CHF, COPD, sepsis, BH/CIWA
  • Post ablations, dialysis

Required Skills:

  • Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (must pass Tele Test)
  • Drip titration (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, etc.)
  • PIV insertion
  • Chest tube/indwelling drain management
  • CBI
  • Stables drips (heparin, lasix, protonix)
  • Antiarrhythmics (cardizem, tikosyn dosing, amio)
  • Nephrostomy tubes

Unit Information:

  • Beds: 32
  • Ratios:
    • Days: 1:4–5
    • Nights: 1:5–7
  • Charge RN (CN) rarely takes patients on days; does take assignment on nights
