Job Description
The Inventory Coordinator oversees a small warehouse in Chambersburg, PA and provides support to an additional warehouse in Rockwood, PA. This role focuses on receiving, organizing, and managing heavy drilling equipment, as well as delivering equipment to mining sites and quarries. The position combines hands-on warehouse work, inventory control, and driving responsibilities, with the potential to grow into a more sales-focused role over time.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the warehouse in Chambersburg, PA and assist with warehouse activities in Rockwood, PA.
- Receive incoming drilling equipment, verify accuracy against documentation, and ensure proper documentation for shipping and receiving.
- Organize, label, and store drilling equipment and related materials in an efficient and safe manner.
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels, including tracking, counting, and reconciling stock as needed.
- Use Excel to record, update, and analyze inventory data, and to maintain clear and organized inventory records.
- Operate a sit-down forklift to move, load, and unload heavy drilling equipment and other materials safely within the warehouse.
- Load and secure equipment on a small trailer and drive it to mining sites and quarries for delivery.
- Perform regular inventory control tasks to prevent stock discrepancies and ensure items are easy to locate and access.
- Handle shipping and receiving activities, including preparing shipments, checking incoming deliveries, and organizing outgoing orders.
- Apply strong organizational skills to keep the warehouse clean, orderly, and optimized for efficient operations.
- Work independently, making sound decisions about inventory organization and warehouse layout without constant direct instruction.
- Follow all safety procedures when lifting heavy equipment, operating forklifts, and driving to off-site locations.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience managing inventory in a warehouse or similar environment.
- Hands-on inventory control and inventory management experience.
- Sit-down forklift operating experience, with the ability to handle heavy loads safely.
- Experience working with drilling equipment or similar heavy industrial equipment.
- Proficiency with Excel for tracking, updating, and managing inventory data.
- Strong computer skills to handle basic data entry and inventory systems.
- Ability to lift over 100 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily duties.
- Experience driving with a small trailer, including loading, securing, and transporting equipment.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain an orderly warehouse and accurate inventory.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions without direct, constant supervision.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in shipping and receiving operations.
- Familiarity with warehouse inventory processes and best practices.
- Comfort working around drilling equipment, mining sites, and quarries.
- Demonstrated reliability and accountability in previous warehouse or logistics roles.

Work Environment

This is a Contract position based out of Chambersburg, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
